If your fiancé or fiancée is a Russian citizen and you want to get married out of Russia, your partner will need to obtain some important documents. What are they?
1) The first paper is a Certificate of No Marriage Record issued by the Registry Office. The state duty is 200 rubles.
But not everything is as simple as it seems! The fact is in order for a document to be applicable abroad, an Apostille stamp must be affixed on it.
Apostille is a stamp that complies with the requirements of the Convention of 5 October 1961 Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents, and Federal Law No. 330-FZ of November 28, 2015 on Apostilles on Russian Official Documents Subject to Export Outside the Russian Federation.
It is important that the Apostille may be affixed only on original documents.
To have documents apostilled, you must provide:
☑ Application for apostilling a document;
☑ ID of the person who submitted the official document for affixing an apostille;
☑ Original Certificate of No Marriage Record, issued by the Registry Office, on which you want an Apostille to be placed;
☑ Document stating you paid the state duty for apostilling – 2500 rubles.
As a result, you will get a Certificate of No Marriage Record with an Apostille placed to it. Duties: 200+2500 rubles.
The issuance period is from 1 to 5 days, rarely up to 10 days.
2) The second document you may need is a Certificate of No Criminal Record. To be usable abroad, it must also bear an Apostille. You can order a certificate on paper through the state portal Gosuslugi.ru. This website states that apostilling takes up to 5 days, but the maximum period can be increased up to 30 days.
